Each spring, our aviculture staff begin breeding several crane species to help save this threatened family of birds. Some, like the Whooping Crane chicks, are reintroduced into the wild. Others, like White-naped, Hooded and Red-crowned Cranes, are bred in cooperation with other zoos in North America to support captive populations and reduce the pressure on wild cranes.
Our exclusive, plush chick is 7" high and has embroidered blue eyes, so he's safe for your little chick. Includes an educational tag.
International Crane Foundation

My husband and I recently visited the International Crane Foundation and were 'blown away' by the the entire experience. The exhibits showcasing all 15 live species of cranes from around the world were spectacular and the work done on site, as well as in partnership with other countries, to protect and maintain these beautiful birds is truly remarkable. In the gift shop we purchased a wall hanging of a crane relief enclosed in a large circle and it proudly hangs now in our home. The work was done by a Haitian artist using a 65-gallon oil drum. We love that the ICF promotes art from around the world as well. The stuffed baby whooping crane was purchased online from the ICF Gift Shop. It was purchased as a baby gift for a newborn and is just adorable. The eyes are embroidered, making it safe for babies and small children. This will definitely NOT be our last purchase from the ICF Gift Shop. I only wish that more items from the shop were made available online.
